[White Matte Bark Canister / Black Matte Bark Canister]

This is one of the projects that reexamines kaba-zaiku from a modern perspective and updates them into a craft with contemporary appeal. The bark is painted with a matte white or black paint to bring out the organic unevenness of the bark. This makes it possible to use materials that were difficult to use in traditional kaba-zaiku, and makes effective use of limited resources. The interior is finished using traditional methods, and the traditional red polished color creates a beautiful contrast with the exterior.
