"Updating Kabazaiku into a craft with modern appeal"
[Matte Bark BOX]
This is one of the projects aimed at re-evaluating Kabazaiku (cherry bark craft) from a contemporary perspective and updating it into a craft with modern appeal. To accentuate the charm of the bark’s organic texture, we have applied a matte coating in white, black, and transparent finishes. This technique allows for the use of materials that were previously difficult to process with traditional Kabazaiku methods, enabling the effective utilization of limited natural resources. Furthermore, the interior—featuring polished traditional reddish-purple and vermilion—creates a stunning contrast with the exterior.
